My Story
My primary goal is to safely guide you in the art and science of yoga. Yoga can be a fitness system, but it is much more. The learning to be aware of your body, it's potential and it's limitations is empowering. Strengthening, balancing, regaining control after an injury, health condition or just from lack of not having a physical practice, energizes the body and the mind. We all need to keep active as we age.
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. I have certification of 500 hours, RYT500 and am certified as E-RYT200, teaching the Yoga Teacher Training Program with LifePower Yoga through Life Time Athletic in Summerlin, NV. My teaching style is a combination of training with Raja Yogi Ganga White and Tracey Rich of the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA., 200 hours. I am Certified in Yoga Therapy from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA., 300 hours. I have also trained with Larry Payne, Prime of Life Yoga (yoga for ages 50+). Los Angeles, author of Yoga for Dummies and Yoga Therapy. I train with Linda Lack, The Thinking Body-Feeling Mind in Los Angeles. I have a BFA in Dance from Point Park College, Pittsburgh.
My yoga lineage is of T Krishnamacharya, who strongly advocated an intelligent approach to yoga, whereby yoga’s tools and techniques are adapted to respect the needs, abilities and requirements of each individual. I teach Hatha Yoga. I do not associate with any religion in my yoga teaching.
My training enables me to safely and effectively work with each individual regardless of age, gender or physical ability. I have an understanding of many diseases and disorders. I have been trained to use yoga postures and techniques in those situations to gain positive results.
Yoga is a self-empowering practice used to restore health and well-being and to help each individual meet the challenges of daily life.
It is my goal to help you find that magnificent quality in your life by including yoga in your wellness plan. I take each individual and develop a program that enables them to learn yoga postures with whatever limitations their body may be experiencing. Guiding each person in a program that works for them.
